Buy vs. Lease

Don't want a large down payment on a new car?
WHY NOT LEASE?
There's little to NO MONEY DOWN or you could use your trade-in
to help keep the 1st payment low.
And there's always coupons or deals going on in a dealership.
(Like FREE oil changes for those 3 years & complimentary key chains, etc.)
You get a 3 year lease with usually 12 to 15,000 miles allowed.
You are also allowed $500 to $1500 worth of damage.
If you want to buy it at the end of the 3 years you can,
although you have to pay the balance which is usually a few thousand dollars.
SO WHY NOT LEASE ANOTHER NEW CAR AT THE END OF THAT LEASE?
You'd be warrenteed and you'd have ANOTHER new car!

*Be sure to bring it back nice & clean! You get kudos for that & a good reputation with the dealership for doing so!
Vacumn it out and take it through the car wash. You'll be glad you did!

Gas Saving Mentality

With the high price of gas today we all need to know how to save money on it.
Here's some hints - 

Try to fill your tank only once a week and use "regular" if you can.

Run all of your errands in a big circle and on the same day if possible.

If the quickest way to get to your job is the highway every morning and it's always bumper-to-bumper traffic, why not leave 15 minutes early and leave your job 15 minutes later. You'd be surprised how much less traffic there might be at that time!
OR take the scenic route! It may take you a few minutes longer to get there but at least you wouldn't be in traffic and you could enjoy the ride with much less stress!

And if at all possible, get a 4-cyclinder car because it is SO MUCH BETTER on gas!
(Do you really NEED an SUV or a big ole' truck or a luxury gas-eater? Think about it!)

Senior Discounts - Just Ask!

Are you over 50? 55? 60?
Then you can get a lot of discounts on food, hotels, car repairs
or pretty much anything!
JUST ASK! And save some more money!

It's Cheaper to Wait!

Saw a great new outfit? Want it NOW?!
It's cheaper to wait! Look at it this way:
If you buy it now you'll be paying full price.
If you wait a couple weeks, you'll get it ON SALE!

And who doesn't want something CHEAPER!?
And it doesn't mean YOU'RE cheap.
It means you're SMART! You know how to save
and still get what you want!

When you walk into a store or go on-line to shop,
head right for the CLEARANCE section.
You'll no doubt find more for your money & instead of
paying full price for only one outfit pay LESS for MORE outfits!
You can look over the new stuff that's full price NOW and
come back for it LATER when it's on SALE!

FREE Baby Clothes!

Got kids? Then you got kids' clothes!
Want more for FREE? Have a Baby Clothes Swap!

Gather up your friends and neighbors who have kids from infant size to toddler size or whatever size you want to swap. Make some coffee, invite them all over and start swapping!
There's no money exchanged, everyone goes home with new clothes for their kids and you just got rid of the sizes you don't need anymore! It's fun and it's FREE!

Note: Just make sure everyone's clothes are washed and clean - yours too!

More FREE Food!

In a restaurant? Want more FREE food?
Ask for a 'better tasting' dish or FREE refill on your drink.
Wait 10 minutes or so and then ask for a doggie-bag or to put your drink in a cup to-go.
Works every time.

FREE Entertainment!

What can you do for FREE??
Take a walk! No matter the weather there's beauty in all the seasons!
Invite a friend, bring a pet, bring your friends' pet, take a child along, enjoy the outdoors!

Walk in a park, along a canal, on a bike path, on the beach, thru a neighborhood you've always driven thru but never stopped long enough to get a good look at, even in a little town and do some window shopping!
It's FREE and it's FUN!

Pack a lunch or some snacks and something to drink so you don't have to spend any $$ while you're out walking for FREE! And be safe! Take your cell phone!

House vs Apartment

 

Do you really NEED a house? Whether big or small think about it.
Do  you really WANT all the extra baggage that comes with owning a house?
Taxes, plumbers, electricians, landscapers, etc...
Not to mention how bad the housing  market is right now.
With a house you can't just pick up and leave it because YOU have to SELL IT.

Apartment living may mean living closer to your neighbors but moving again wouldn't be a hassle like it would be if you owned a house. And if anything breaks down in an apt., you just call the manager and they fix it or give you a new one FOR FREE! There are large apts and smaller ones. YOU decide how much room you need and how much you're willing to pay monthly - WITHOUT taxes!

NOTE: In New Jersey it's hard to find an apartment under $1000 unless it's a studio.
Then again, that may be all you really need.

Cheaper Car, More $$ in Your Pocket

Had an accident? Totaled your car?
No matter whose fault it was hold onto that insurance check!
Don't use it to put down on a car from a dealership!
Buy one out-right with the CASH from that check and pocket money monthly!
Not having a car note to pay is pure bliss!
Who says you can't find a decent used car today?!?
There's plenty of  'em out there! Start looking as soon as your car insurance company tells you how much you're getting back! Enlist your friends to help you look! You don't need to travel far either. There's always a car on somebody's lawn or in a parking lot just waiting for YOU!

FREE Ketchup, etc!

Who needs to buy ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, napkins, plastic cutlery, etc?!?
When you go to any fast food or take-out restaurant just ask for extra of these things.
Take them home and NEVER pay for them again!

Squash those Credit Card Interest Rates!

Interest on credit cards? No way! Here's what you do:
Read that "junk mail" that credit card companies send you. They are always touting
NO INTEREST UNTIL NEXT YEAR if you pay off your balance.
So pay off your balance by putting THAT balance on ANOTHER credit card with low or no interest.
Just keep revolving them and you'll NEVER pay interest again!

NOTE: Just don't go crazy with it! You don't want such a high balance that you won't be able to use the next card you just paid off an old balance with!
